About Us
Mayyil Rice Producer Company Limited is a Farmer Producer Company (FPC) established in June 2017 and registered under the Companies Act, 2013. Headquartered in Mayyil, a small town in Taliparamba Taluk, Kannur District, Kerala, South India, this company is dedicated to enhancing paddy cultivation among local farmers. Starting with 10 farmer shareholders and an initial share capital of ₹1 lakh, it has evolved into a robust farmer-led organization with 627 farmer shareholders and a share capital of ₹29.11 lakhs. Furthermore, over 2,500 farmers, both shareholders and non-shareholders, are actively involved with the company. In the financial year 2024–25, the company achieved a turnover of ₹256 lakhs, showcasing its commitment to producing value-added rice products.
Our Activities
The Farmer Producer Company supports farmers in paddy cultivation by providing technical guidance and scientifically developed packages of practices in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK). It also supplies essential agricultural inputs at reasonable and affordable rates.
Harvested paddy and other crops such as pulses and millets are procured directly from farmers at fair prices fixed periodically. These raw materials are processed into a range of value-added rice products, including:
100%, 80%, and 60% bran-retained boiled rice
40% bran-retained raw rice
Rice powder (Puttu Podi)
Flattened rice (Avil)
GABA rice, a premium sprouted rice rich in Gamma Aminobutyric Acid (GABA), known for supporting the management of lifestyle-related conditions such as hypertension, obesity, and diabetes.
The company operates its own godown, rice mill, rice powder mill, and Avil mill in the Mayyil suburbs. It has sales outlets in Kannur and Mayyil towns, along with a mobile marketing and home-delivery service in Kannur and surrounding areas using company-owned vehicles. Products are also marketed through other Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), franchise partners, and cooperative channels. In addition, the company supports the marketing of quality products produced by other FPOs.
Since inception, the company has been consistently profitable and has successfully distributed dividends every year.
